Été Immortel through the eyes of Patrice Revillard: behind the creation of our fragrance inspired by Corsica

Creating a fragrance is about telling a story, translating an emotion, and taking people on a journey through exceptional raw materials. At Poécile, every creation is inspired by a French landscape and born from the meeting of an idea and the expertise of a master perfumer.

With Été Immortel, our ambition was simple: to capture the essence of Corsica at the height of summer. A wild, radiant island where rugged landscapes meet the fragrant maquis and immortelle flowers paint the hillsides in shades of gold.

To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with Patrice Revillard. Discover how our perfumer describes this new creation and the inspiration behind every facet of its composition.

Patrice Revillard, the perfumer behind Été Immortel

Behind every remarkable fragrance is a creator capable of transforming an idea into an olfactory experience.

Patrice Revillard is a French perfumer renowned for his sensitive approach to raw materials and his talent for creating elegant, natural, and beautifully contrasted compositions. His work is about crafting accords that faithfully capture a memory, an atmosphere, or a landscape through scent.

When Poécile shared its vision of creating a fragrance inspired by Corsica, built around everlasting flower, the inspiration came almost instantly.

"For me, Corsica is a place where nature constantly shifts between lush vegetation and mineral landscapes. It is an almost arid environment where immortelle plays a central role."

That vision became the guiding thread behind Été Immortel.

Immortelle, the iconic bloom at the heart of the fragrance

It would have been impossible to create a fragrance inspired by Corsica without celebrating immortelle flower.

Also known as helichrysum, this small golden flower has a remarkable quality: it retains both its vibrant colour and its scent long after it has been picked. It is this extraordinary characteristic that gave the flower its name.

In perfumery, it is often used as immortelle absolute, a precious raw material obtained through an extraction process that preserves the full richness of its olfactory profile.

Its scent is unmistakable. Warm, sunlit, and gently spicy, with hints of honey, dried hay, curry, and blond tobacco, everlasting flower absolute instantly brings a comforting warmth and a distinctly Mediterranean signature.

In Été Immortel, this exceptional ingredient forms the heart of the fragrance. It evokes sun-drenched hillsides and fields of everlasting flowers that illuminate the Corsican landscape throughout the summer.

A composition that tells the story of a landscape

To express the richness of Corsica's landscapes, Patrice Revillard imagined the fragrance as a journey unfolding in three stages, with each note revealing a different facet of the island.

    A radiant citrus opening

The fragrance opens with a vibrant combination of bergamot and clementine.

Bergamot brings a sparkling, luminous freshness, while clementine adds a beautifully sun-kissed fruity sweetness. Together, these citrus notes create a bright and uplifting opening reminiscent of the first moments of a walk beneath the Mediterranean sun.

This fresh introduction beautifully balances the warmer notes that gradually emerge.

An aromatic heart built around immortelle absolute

At the heart of the fragrance, immortelle absolute reveals its full complexity.

It is paired with an accord inspired by the Corsican maquis, blending mint, thyme, and chamomile.

Thyme adds an aromatic, slightly dry character that reflects the vegetation naturally growing across the island's rocky landscapes. Mint introduces a refreshing contrast to the warmth of everlasting flower, while chamomile softens the composition with its delicate herbal facets.

Together, these ingredients create a vibrant, green, and deeply evocative heart.

    A mineral and woody base

To extend the journey, Patrice Revillard created a base that is both warm and distinctly mineral.

Cistus resin brings ambery, resinous, and subtly leathery facets that evoke shrubs warmed by the Mediterranean sun.

Juniper wood adds a dry, elegant woody character, while mineral notes recall rocky cliffs, rugged coastlines, and the lingering warmth of stone after a summer day.

This base gives the fragrance remarkable depth while preserving its airy elegance.

A contemporary interpretation of Corsican landscapes

With Été Immortel, Patrice Revillard was never trying to reproduce the exact scent of a place.

Instead, his goal was to capture the sensations that define Corsica: its brilliant light, the breeze sweeping through the maquis, aromatic plants mingling with salty sea air, and the warmth radiating from the rocks.

Every ingredient contributes to this impression, allowing the fragrance to gradually paint a landscape as it evolves on the skin.

The result is a composition that feels radiant, aromatic, and effortlessly elegant, making it the perfect companion for summer days.

Patrice Revillard's perspective on Été Immortel

For the perfumer, Été Immortel has a truly distinctive personality.

"Été Immortel is an aromatic fragrance that remains wonderfully refreshing. It's perfect for summer."

Those words perfectly capture the balance at the heart of the composition.

Everlasting flower naturally lends itself to warm, rich creations. Yet thanks to the freshness of the citrus notes, the aromatic herbs, and the mineral accord, the fragrance retains an unmistakable lightness and freshness.

That contrast is what makes it so unique: a sun-filled fragrance that never feels heavy, and a fragrance with real character that remains easy to wear every day.

A fragrance to make summer last

Été Immortel is for anyone looking for a fragrance that is luminous, natural, and full of emotion.

It is equally suited to a day by the sea or a stroll through the city, leaving behind an elegant trail where freshness, aromatic vegetation, and mineral warmth come together.

Through this creation, Patrice Revillard captures far more than a combination of notes. He recreates an atmosphere, a light, and an emotion.

Every spray becomes an invitation to return to sun-drenched landscapes where immortelle bloom among the rocks, citrus fruits perfume the air, and the maquis reveals its extraordinary richness.

With Été Immortel, Poécile continues its mission of transporting people through fragrance, once again celebrating the beauty of France's landscapes and the artistry of fine perfumery.
