Iodized getaways between secret coves and mythical beaches
When you think of summer, you think of the sea. And when you think of the sea... the Côte d'Azur is the obvious choice. With its coves, long golden beaches and blue waters, it attracts lovers of light, warmth and picture-postcard landscapes every year.
At Poécile, we're inspired by this atmosphere. Because to explore the beaches of the south is also to enjoy a complete sensory experience. That's what we wanted to convey in our Hespérides Idylliques fragrance.
Discover the five must-see beaches on the Côte d'Azur this summer.
1. Paloma Beach, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat: the discreet pearl
Nestled in the heart of a verdant cape, Paloma Beach is one of the Côte d'Azur's most confidential beaches. Bordered by umbrella pines, this small cove of fine pebbles offers superb views of the cliffs of Eze and the emerald waters of the Mediterranean.
Ideal for those looking for calm and elegance, it is both wild and refined, with its small waterfront restaurant and carefully aligned deckchairs. It's the perfect place for a chic lunch or a peaceful afternoon in the sun.
Tip: Don't forget your sandals: the pebbles are charming but not very gentle on bare feet.
2. Plage Notre-Dame, Porquerolles: a dream setting
Accessible only by bike or on foot from the village center, Plage Notre-Dame is a little jewel on the island of Porquerolles. Clear sand, translucent water, maritime pines and the scent of maquis: everything here exudes unspoilt nature.
Voted one of Europe's most beautiful beaches, it offers a truly enchanted interlude, far from roads and noise. The atmosphere is simple, almost wild, and bathing here has to be earned... but it's all the tastier for it.
Tip: bring a picnic lunch, water and sun cream. There's no restaurant on site, but a thousand perfect places to lay your towel in the shade.
3. Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle: a Côte d'Azur icon
It's impossible to talk about Côte d'Azur beaches without mentioning Pampelonne. Famous for its legendary clubs, fine sand and festive atmosphere, it stretches along 5 kilometers of coastline.
But beyond the bling-bling image, Pampelonne is also a generous corner of nature, with calmer areas, crystal-clear waters and a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean.
Tip: for a more intimate moment, head for the southern part of the beach, near the Escalet entrance. Less crowded, more natural, it offers another face of this cult site.
4. Calanque d'En-Vau, Cassis: wild and spectacular
More difficult to access, the Calanque d'En-Vau must be earned. You have to walk and climb a little, but when you arrive, you'll find a dream setting: white cliffs plunging into turquoise water, mineral silence and raw beauty.
This is one of the most emblematic calanques in the Calanques National Park, and undoubtedly one of the most impressive. It attracts kayakers, hikers and swimmers alike.
Tip: leave early, with good shoes and plenty of water. In summer, access may be restricted due to the risk of fire.
5. Plage de l'Estagnol, Bormes-les-Mimosas: a family-friendly beach
Protected by a pine forest, Plage de l'Estagnol is a haven of peace with a lagoon-like feel. Its shallow, warm waters make it perfect for families or those who prefer a leisurely swim.
The scents of pine, warm sand and mimosa create a soft, enveloping atmosphere, typically Mediterranean. It's a simple, authentic beach, where the word “vacation” takes on its full meaning.
Tip: come early or late in the day to avoid the crowds. The setting is even more magical at sunset.
Hespérides Idylliques: the Côte d'Azur in a bottle
Mediterranean landscapes leave an indelible imprint on our memories... and in the air. At Poécile, we wanted to capture this light, soft, lemony freshness in a fragrance.
Hespérides Idylliques is a tribute to the beaches of the south: a unisex, floral and citrus fragrance, combining lemon, bergamot, mimosa, a hint of limoncello and a gourmet touch of calisson d'Aix. It evokes sun-drenched orchards, siestas under pine trees and warm afternoon sea spray.
Made in France, this fragrance tells the story of a luminous summer. It joins our committed French fragrances, inspired by nature, designed for all skin types and all tastes.
